“Hello Philipp from Berlin climate action!
Greeting from Smithers, BC, Canada climate action. For our vigil we wanted to bring a unified world flavor , as an climate audio postcard from other climate actions around the world.
What we’re asking is that other people planning vigils around Canada and the world give us a quick call and leave a message of solidarity on our voicemail. Then we’ll record them and splice them together into an audio postcard that we’ll play at our event Friday at 5pm. The idea is tohelp people in our small northern community feel connected to what other
people
out there are doing.
To “sign” the audio postcard, call 1-250-847-3143. Please keep your message to 20 seconds or less, and begin it with something like “Hi Smithers, this is [name] calling from [town]…” You might add a short message of unity, or a very brief description of what you have planned for your community.
We are asking people to call us before Thursday at noon in order to give us time to piece the messages together.
